I’m a self-taught National Master in chess out of Pennsylvania, USA who was introduced to the game by my father in 1988 at the age of 8. The purpose of this channel is to share my knowledge of chess to help others improve their game. I enjoy continuing to improve my understanding of this great game, albeit slowly. 1. The lack of that material imbalance made me anxious, not gonna lie

  2. Thank you Jerry for sacrificing playing on your own just for the sake of providing such good commentary, we appreciate it a lot

  3. DrTrollstein.

We don't deserve a chess world champion like Magnus – he makes the world better by existing, and living in Naka's head rent-free.

  4. Fantastic bullet chess! I learn absolutely nothing because it is 1+0, but so impressive and fun to watch. 12 in a row was some finish! If it was 2+0 I think Championstein would be dominating a huge lot more. 😛There are a few titled players who are even better at flagging than Flagnus

  5. One of the cool things about jerry, is that he treats the pieces humanly, like, the way he describes them when grabbing space and squares, advancing

  6. 1:06:35 What the heck was White doing in this game? Spending several tempi trading off a bishop for a knight; trading away his crucial Bg2; giving up the file…it's like he was trying to lose as quickly as possible.

  7. Holy shoot! That was epic! Great commentating, thank you Jerry.

  8. Awesome performance by Magnus! He really poured it on at the end.

  9. Fun fact about the HUGE game for the tournament comeback vs Danya at 1:23:42 was that David Howell sat behind him and informed Magnus of the trapped queen and they started yelling "cheater!" after winning the game haha.

  10. I don't know what will happen next, but I am absolutely sure Magnus is not a usual champion. He has something tremendous in his play, impossible to describe. I think he even surpassed Kasparov in chess greatness.
So happy to be a contemporary and to realize that first Match I watched was first Carlsen's Match. And I came to chess exactly at the same time he got a champion's title.
And… you know, the most interesting thing in Carlsen's identity is that, being a Champion, he has a great passion to the game, he loves the game and what is he doing. He is an absolute beast, a truly Champion as should be.
Thanks to ChessNetwork we can watch this chess genius with incredible high-level and extremely clear live commentary 🙂
    Always with a like 😉

  11. He was not always on fire but he was always lit this evening.

  12. Pon4ik2006 only 15 years old. Kid could be insane if he puts the work in

  13. small remark, you don't have to go to the list of players to check Magnus standings, it's written next to his clock

  14. The Pon4ik2006 guy spells 'Ponchik2006' if you're wondering. That actually means donut in Russian/Belarussian

  15. How i wish to meet you out of all the youtubers in the world Jerry.

  16. always wonder how well hikaru would do in one of these

  17. pon4ik2006…es really human?? is rare destroy carlsen very times in one day

  18. pon4ik is a variant of the Russian word ponchik, which is pronounced pawn-chick, and it means "donut" in Russian.

  19. We are so lucky to have a WC who will do this in public – no fear, no reputation protection, no coasting. Maybe Kasparov would have done the same, if this sort of thing existed when he was in his prime? Other than him I don't think any other WC in history would have been so prepared to gamble with his reputation like this.

  20. Hello Jerry…'s great to hear your voice again (:

  21. So glad you're still doing these Jerry! You're loved by your fans… Nobody knows how to narrate the game as well as you!

  22. It's crazy to think that magnus can just decides "you know what? I feel like winning the tournament today" and start winning games after games

  23. Massive thanks for this. The more the better, staying updated and subbed on your channel.

  24. Who are you? I know weird question, but you are always really fast keeping up with whatever is going on, analysing insanely quickly what's the purpose behind the moves and the goals while people do 3 moves in a second. The only time I saw you struggle was with Magnus vs Andrew Tang in a titled, where no one knew that it was Andrew – and considering how insanely fast and high level they played, that's understandable. But it seems like you can easily keep up with people making quick decisions with a rating of 2800+. Either way, really nice commentary, I enjoy it a lot. Very impressive.

  25. The new world order/the new normal is at least giving us an all time high in chess streamer quality. So impressive play. Extremely knowledgeable narration.

  26. Goodness that random guy nailed magnus real good

  27. Time for jerry to put me to nap. Gnight ya'll

  28. This makes me want to play high speed. Can get a lot of games in this way.

  29. watching thru and WHAT i got a live mention around 35:25 !? an honor Jerry. a pleasure to catch this live on twitch, and on youtube!

  30. 1:21:40 I imagine the Champion heard Jerry and switched from playing with his left hand to his right hand or something.

  31. Magnus doesn't give up… he's an endgame expert. That's a lot of work for $500.

  32. Love your titled arena commentaries. Don't stop doing them

  33. Pon4ik2006 is Denis Lazavik and yeah, this guy was really good even back then.
