Hurry-up! | Weekly Bullet Arena Chess Tournament [259]

I late-joined a 2-hour bullet chess tournament (Weekly Bullet Arena) on lichess.org while livestreaming at . The tournament was played on August 15th, 2022. Time controls are 1 minute per player.

I’m a self-taught National Master in chess out of Pennsylvania, USA who was introduced to the game by my father in 1988 at the age of 8. The purpose of this channel is to share my knowledge of chess to help others improve their game. I enjoy continuing to improve my understanding of this great game, albeit slowly. 1. I dropped out of chess for a while & watching chessnetwork too. It's good to be back watching again. Hope you are doing well Jerry 🙂

  2. Love the increased frequency of uploads

  3. When you get excited for a new Jerry tournament and then realise it's from the one stream you've actually managed to catch recently 😅

  4. it's great to see how fast you are now =)

  5. 21:47 has mate in 1, a few seconds later, I don't know what I'm doing with this knight, not like I'm threatening g2 or f3 😀 lol

  6. It seems like Jerry was very distracted while playing the tourney. Yet, he still got a very high score (considering he played for the half of the tourney).

  7. I keep watching your chess videos but I don't play it lol

  8. 21:58 "I don't even know what I'm doing with this knight… threatening zip! It's not like I'm threatening g2 or f3" as he missed mate on g2 lol killin me Jerry 😂

  9. 4:30 It was my honor to play with you, and got a compliment too about my level being higher than my rating!

  10. I only just got around to watching the 9-lives video and you're gifting us another?? Awesome! I hope I can catch a stream some time soon x

  11. so happy to see some more of this kind of thing. love all your content but tournaments are my fave

  12. Great week for Jerry fans!
Jerry – you mentioned playing some other games on stream. Would you consider making a secondary channel where you upload that stuff? I'm sure many of us would watch!

  13. That guy jinxed you indeed, if it wasn't for him you would have won that game instead of a draw

  14. Chess has many tricks and methods, thank you for explaining. And you express the points🙏👋

  15. Jerry, when I watch you at 3/4 speed, I can ALMOST keep up!

  16. 5:34 Did Jerry miss Nf3+, or would the attack on g6 be too dangerous?

  17. Love the content. Funny little thing at 21:47, you had mate in one, then a few seconds later criticized yourself for not having any threats 😛

  18. When Jerry's opponents suddenly blunders a piece and a half, he sounds like a honest person who has to do something dirty or shameful

  19. 49:28 really nice, you did trust your opponent even in a bullet game that that moves makes sense and it did 😮

  20. It's so different to see Jerry playing nowadays comparing to him playing in the early ChessCube tournaments. Now it's very calm, almost no excitement at all… somehow I think the old "oh no, I'm mated (by Anton-Anton)" was more fun to watch. 🙂

  21. 21:47 Jerry missed a mate-in-one. Says a few seconds later: “I don’t even know what I’m doing with this knight. Threatening zip.” Well, you were a few seconds ago… 🙂

  22. Thanks Jerry! I actually love it when you join a tournament late because it brings me back to the old ChessCube days when you played a lot of 1400-1700 players and had polite but interesting things to say about the mistakes made at that level in the middle game which have helped me improve my game a lot [well, not too much, since I'm still below 1700, but enjoyable!] (same with the Swiss tournaments when you make commentaries on 1500 vs 1500 battles while waiting for the next round).

  23. I think you’re a brilliant and creative player.
